It's a Jeep Thing

If you don't know... I'm a little nuts for jeeps. No, I don't have one. I did but it's long gone. (long story) Anyway, the Spring and Summer catalog came out for Stampin' Up and I just happened to flip through it and found THIS!

*Squeal* OMG! I think I jumped up and down for like a few minutes or so. It's called "Hit the Road" and sells for $19.95. You know I had to have it. This little jeep would pull me out of my self imposed world of dark romance is nothing else would! *giggle*

So, I have several to show you. Why? Because you can never be too rich, too happy or have too many jeeps! You can quote me on that!!! *wink*

This one is stamped in Black Classic ink on Whisper White card stock and painted with watercolor pencils and Aqua Painters. Oh and did I mention it's GREEN! hehee. The color is a combination of Garden Green and Old Olive.

Blue. Ahhh! Well Tempting Turquoise to be precise, is a lovely shade for a jeep. Don't you think? This is stamped again in classic black on non-SU watercolor paper. The paper had a lot of tooth and that texture made the stamp a little rough and patchy. That was no problem though. I just took the Stampin Write marker and filled in what was missing. I'm sure that when my SU watercolor paper comes in, it will be smoother. I painted it with a blender pen and inks from the stamp pads. There's the turquoise, black and creamy carmel.

Then came the red. Can you see all the possibilities of this one stamp from this set! *wink* This was the back of the watercolor paper (smoother) and stamped nicely in classic black. I went back to the watercolor pencils and Aqua Painters for this one.

That's all that I did with them... but that was not the end of the Jeepin day at our house. Nope.. my daughter made this lovely for me.

It's hanging at my office right now. I helped her mask off the jeep and she stamped the pine trees with the "Lovely as a Tree" set in old olive. The scan might not show it, but she painted the jeep and it was great. Then she added pink glitter pen over everything to give it pizzaz! Now I ask you... who can resist a sparkly pink jeep from their daughter?

See you next time!

  2. You are a whiz with color, my friend.

I'll have to find a way to share my sorry little jeep stamp with you. I'm not too great with ovals . . . an understatement with that jeep. ;-)

    Thanks for sharing.
